Best Places to Sell Baby Clothes

[ad_1]

Is there anything cuter than baby clothes?

From the little baby socks to the hats and tiny gloves, everything is adorable. As a mom, it can be hard to part with these precious little items. However, as time goes on (and your kids grow older), their stuff gets bigger, and you start to run out of space.

So, if and when you are ready to let some of your kids’ cute tiny baby clothes go, here’s a list of the best places to sell baby clothing.

Selling used baby clothes is easy with online consignment shops.

Where to Sell Used Baby Clothes

I remember before my first son was born sitting on the couch and carefully folding all of the tiny baby clothes that I had bought in preparation. I literally wept with joy as I matched the baby socks because I couldn’t believe I was about to bring a life into the world that had feet so small. My little guy didn’t disappoint. He had the cutest baby feet I had ever seen. Of course, I’m a biased mommy!

Being somewhat of a minimalist mom, I didn’t overstock on the newborn baby clothes. And it’s a good thing because other people love to buy infant baby outfits. We had so many baby clothes gifted to us that our son wasn’t even able to wear all of them before he grew out of the newborn size. So we were left with a ton of hardly used or never-used baby clothes. This is when I started looking into places to sell baby clothes.

thredUp

thredUp is an online consignment and thrift store that sells clothes and accessories for women and children. It offers sellers a “clean out kit” that allows you to free up space in your closet by filling a thredUp bag full of gently used items you no longer need. thredUp will even provide the shipping label so all you need to do is take the kit to FedEx or USPS. When your items sell, you can choose to cash out or get shopping credit.

Poshmark

Poshmark is another online consignment shop where you can buy clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories for the entire family. To become a seller on Poshmark, all you have to do is take a photo of the item you want to sell and upload it. Then, share your listing with your network so shoppers can discover your items. If someone wants to purchase your item, Poshmark will send you a pre-paid label and you will earn cash when your item is delivered.

Facebook Marketplace

Selling baby clothes on Facebook Marketplace is another great option. Go through your baby clothes and pick the ones that are in great condition or ones that still have the tags on. Next, take some quality pictures to showcase the clothes. Now open Facebook Marketplace and click on the “create new listing” tab on the left side of your screen. From here you can upload your photo and add the price and other item details.

The Real Real

If your baby boy or girl (or your generous mother-in-law) has a taste for designer clothes, then The Real Real might be the right place for you to sell. Think Gucci onesies or Burberry sundresses. Before you can start selling, you will have to provide some personal info including your name, email, phone number, and zip code. Next, you can choose between setting up a “concierge appointment” where you can have someone pick up your items from your home or you can print a free shopping label and send your items.

Places to Sell Used Baby Gear

If you have a closet or garage full of old baby gear such as strollers, carriers, monitors, and beyond, you can also clear up some space by selling all of those items.

Craigslist

If you’re looking to sell off some of your used baby gear, Craigslist is a great place to start. To list an item, simply select the type of posting (for sale by owner), choose a category for your listing (“baby and kid stuff,” or whatever is most relevant), and then fill in all of the item details including a picture of the item. If a buyer is interested in your baby gear, they will reach out and you can agree on a price or decide if you want to meet up.

Once Upon a Child

Once Upon a Child is one of my go-to consignment shops when I have baby clothes or gear to sell. Once Upon a Child accepts everything from baby and kids clothes to costumes, dancewear, footwear, toys, books, games, and all of the baby gear. It’s a great one-stop-shop when you want to sell your gently used goods and pick up some new items for your kiddos. To sell, simply head to the nearest retail store and a store employee will review your items and make you an offer. If you accept the offer, you will be paid in cash on the spot.

GoodBuy Gear

If you want a super convenient way to get rid of your used baby gear, GoodBuy Gear is an excellent option. After you’ve selected the items you want to sell, you can reach out to GoodBuy Gear to schedule a time for them to come and pick up your stuff. You don’t need to leave your home. The staff at GoodBye Gear cleans and quality-checks your items, takes the photos, lists your second-hand gear online, and they even recommend pricing. When your item sells, you can receive up to 80% of the sale price or 90% if you choose to use GoodBuy Bucks (store credit). I personally am happy to pay the 10% to 20% commission price for this level of convenience.

Sell That Baby Stuff and Take Back Your Space

If you’re debating whether you should sell your used baby clothes and baby gear, there are a lot of pros. Not only can you take back some of your space but you can also put money back in your pocket. And, if you are debating, don’t wait too long: A lot of sites prefer newer, more trendy items as opposed to ones that have been sitting in your garage or storage closet for the past five years!
