The 2023 Met Gala dress code theme has been unveiled.
The Met Gala also known as the Met Ball takes place every year on the first Monday of May. This year it will take place on May 1. The annual fundraising gala held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City is arguably the biggest fashion event of the year.
For this year’s Met Gala attendees the dress code will be “in honor of Karl Lagerfeld.” The legendary German fashion designer was best known for his role as Creative Director for Chanel. He held this position from 1983 until his death in 2019.
